No Parent Left Behind Campaign
Did you know:
In Northern Ireland, 80% of mothers have no access to specialist services if they struggle with their mental health?
The leading cause of death in women in the year after giving birth is suicide?
Northern Ireland currently invests £0 into perinatal mental healthcare?
These are shocking statistics and the lack of services and investment is costing women their lives. Women with young children and the potential of bright and happy futures.
1 in 10 fathers will also experience problems with their mental health and there are currently no services to cater for this.
We can no longer sit back and accept that we are failing parents. We Are Pangs will continue to campaign for the rights of parents to access safe, timely and appropriate mental healthcare throughout pregnancy and after birth. This includes parents who have experienced the loss of a child or a child born with disability.
It is time we stood together as a community and said enough is enough. Only when we come together can we affect real change.
